Rachel George, MD

Dr. George has been with Cogent HMG for nearly six years, and oversees the north central region of the country.

Previously she worked at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Ill., where she was the Medical Director of Hospitalist Services. In that role she successfully expanded the hospitalist program from one physician to nine, with round-the-clock coverage.

After practicing medicine for several years, Dr. George returned to school to earn an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She is a member of the American College of Physician Executives and SHM, where she has served on several committees including Leadership, Membership, and Annual Meeting.  She has chaired the Women in Hospital Medicine taskforce as well as co-chaired the Innovations section of the RIV committee. Currently, Dr. George is an Associate Clinical Professor at UIC College of Medicine.
