Shaun Frost, MD

Dr. Frost joined Cogent HMG in 2006 and currently oversees our programs in the northeastern United States.

Dr. Frost has been a practicing hospitalist since 1998, starting his career at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he was the director of non-teaching inpatient services. After leaving Cleveland he worked in Minneapolis at HealthPartners Medical Group and Clinics where he led and managed a number of process and quality improvement projects.

He is a current faculty member at the medical school of the University of Minnesota, and has spoken and written extensively on a variety of healthcare topics including publications in the Annals of Internal Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, the American Journal of Medicine, Mayo Clinic Proceedings, and contributions to the text books Just the Facts in Hospital Medicine, and Comprehensive Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Frost is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Senior Fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM). He has served a variety of leadership roles for SHM, and has been a member of the SHM Board of Directors since 2008 having previously served as Board Treasurer, and currently serving as SHM’s President Elect. In 2005 he was given the National Award for Clinical Excellence from SHM.

He is an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.
